NZ Travel: Athenree Beach House

Back in March I headed off on a “working weekend”. Two nights away from home with my diary, my laptop and a whole lot of enthusiasm.

I used to do this more often, but the last couple of years I’ve not done it at all, and I know I always get so much done with no distractions. And so, Friday to Sunday I was at the Athenree Beach House, enjoying beautiful sunshine, chilly nights and spectacular views from a gorgeous upstairs home.

Athenree Beach House

Beautiful reading area, stocked with books, games and even colouring in stuff for kids.

I found the Athenree Beach House on Air B n B, and while it was a little more than I had hoped to spend per night, the inspiration I got while staying there, in terms out planning out a new package for my Virtual Assistant business, and recording training videos for my team while in the quiet - it was well worth it.

Sleeping up to 7 people across 3 bedrooms, we only had 2 of us for one night, and just me the second night and it felt like so much space. With a fully equipped, moden kitchen, we bought our own food and were able to enjoy cooked lunch, dinner and breakfast the next day.

My spot for the weekend. Just the right amount of breeze, a power point and lots of natural light.

The view out the back is incredible. By day you can watch people boating and walking through the estuary, and watch the tide go in and out. But at sunset, the view is changed again, into one of absolute peace and stunning colours. It really was an amazing view. Both nights I sat on the small jetty over the water and just took photos and admired the constantly changing view.

If you’re looking for a place to contemplate life and maybe create some content - this is a spectacular place to do it.
